Sevenoaks Town 1 Beckenham Town 4
|
A 15 minute second-half hat-trick by Beckenham Town striker Anthony Weir settled this Bulmers Cider Kent League Premier Division contest at chilly Greatness Park on Tuesday night. Sevenoaks made the perfect start with Tony Atkins heading them in front in just the second minute with a near post header, but they were on the back foot for the rest of the first half. Sean Funnell made some important stops, and several last ditch blocks averted the danger, with Beckenham also hitting a post. Weir, equalised five minutes after the break, added his second six minutes later and completed his quickfire treble after 65 minutes. He also made the fourth, crossing from the left for substitute Perry Belchamber to score in stoppage time, condemning Sevenoaks to their first defeat of the year on a disappointing night for the home side. Sevenoaks Town: Sean Funnell, Toby Webb, Charlie Burgess, Danny Twin, Michael Cook, Joe Minter (Badar Mohamad 67mins), Danny Ward, John Alegbe (Ossie Bayram 58mins), Chris Walker, (Daniel Akpoveta 67mins), Tony Atkins, Billy Shinners. Subs not used: Adam Porter Michael Mullane. Attendance: 58
