Although Town were founder members of the original Kent League, early records are very few. However, on the 26th April 1893 Sevenoaks Town played Royal Arsenal, at the time the only professional club in the south of England, and over a thousand spectators watched the game at Knole Paddock. The proceeds of the match were divided between two local hospitals.
In 1900/01 Sevenoaks Town won the Sevenoaks Charity Cup for the first time. They won again in 1904/05 and retained the cup the following year. In 1906 Sevenoaks Town became one of the founding members of the Sevenoaks League.
Town amalgamated with St. Johns United, a local team, in 1951 and became members of the Kent Amateur League (Western Region). In 1965/66 they won the Division One League Cup, and in 1968/69 they won the Premier Division and repeated the feat in 1975/76.
In 1984 the Western and Eastern Regions of the Kent Amateur League combined to become the present Kent County Football League. Sevenoaks Town won the Premier League in its first season and again in 1995/96 and 2002/03. Other trophies won include the Intermediate Challenge Shield twice, Kent Junior Cup Group A three times and the Sevenoaks Charity Cup twelve times.
Season 2003/04 saw a fresh challenge as the club returned the the Kent League after an absence of a century. Town made considerable improvements to their ground at Greatness Park, including new changing rooms and floodlights, and finished a creditable eleventh position. The Reserves joined the first team in Kent League Division 2, having completed the double two seasons running by winning both the League and Cup in the Kent County League Reserve Division.
The following seasons saw a number of management changes at first team level as the club worked hard to get themselves established at a higher level. Following a poor run of form which saw the club rooted to the bottom of the table, November 2005 saw the experienced duo of Bob Pittaway and Derek Moore take charge as joint first team managers for the remainder of that season.
Under the guidance of Moore and Pittaway, season 2006/07 saw an improvement on the pitch which resulted in the club achieving it's highest ever League position of 10th and reaching the semi-final of the Kent Senior Trophy
